New BBSRC LIDo studentship awarded
Dr Liam Good has been awarded a BBSRC LIDo studentship. PhD student, Lauren Hellewell, will be working on "Potentiation and repurposing of macrolide antimicrobials against Gramnegative pathogens for clinical applications in human and veterinary medicine".
Antimicrobial resistance is an important problem in animal and human health. This project aims to advance technology that may provide alternatives to the standard strategies. Specifically, the project will evaluate the use of polymers, peptides and peptidomimetics as potentiators of macrolides. The project will focus on understanding the mechanisms of potentiation and the possible clinical benefits that could be realised in future.
